If you’re running SIPA rotary blow molders, you’ve probably dealt with the headache of pearlescence or those annoying thin walls in your PET preforms. It’s frustrating. Usually, it comes down to a power mismatch. When you’ve got a mix of old lamps and new radiators with different wattages, you get “cold spots” in the oven. It’s like trying to bake a cake in an oven where one corner is freezing—it just doesn’t work. That’s why we made our 2500W IR radiators. They’re a direct drop-in replacement, meaning every single lamp slot finally pulls the same weight. Why 2500W actually matters It isn’t just about cranking up the heat. It’s about density. In a high-speed rotary machine, your preform is under that lamp for a fraction of a second. You have to hit that glass transition temperature perfectly without scorching the neck. We keep the tolerances on these lamps incredibly tight. If a replacement is off by even 5%, your bottles will blow unevenly. Simple as that. The build quality We use high-purity quartz glass because these things take a beating from rapid thermal cycling. They use shortwave infrared technology, which is great because the heat penetrates right through the PET wall instead of just searing the surface. Plus, we built the connectors to industry standards. You won’t have to worry about them arcing or shaking loose while the machine is humming along at full speed. A few tips for the install These fit right into your existing SIPA setup. No fancy modifications needed; they match the original OEM footprint and electrical needs. But here is a heads-up: pushing 2500W per lamp creates a lot of ambient heat. If your ventilation is clogged or your cooling fans are on their last legs, these lamps will bake your reflectors. Check your airflow first. Once that’s clear, do yourself a favor and replace the lamps in matched sets. Swapping them one-by-one usually leads to thermal imbalances while you’re ramping up, and nobody wants that.
