If you’re running SIG Blomax lines, you know the headache. One minute everything is humming along, and the next, a tube burns out. It happens. Usually, it’s just the brutal reality of thermal shock—heating up and cooling down a thousand times a day until the glass just gives up. We got tired of seeing that cycle, so we built a better lamp. These aren’t just another set of OEM parts; they’re reinforced to actually survive the shop floor. Getting the heat right First, we make sure the power matches your ADS blowing machine exactly. You need that short-wave infrared hit to soften PET preforms fast, or your cycle times tank. But here’s the catch: cramming that much wattage into a small tube puts a massive amount of stress on the quartz. It’s a lot of pressure for a piece of glass to handle. Built a bit tougher To fix that, we switched to a heavy-wall quartz. Most standard lamps fail because the glass thins out over time or bows under the heat. Ours are thicker and more resilient. We also spent a lot of time on the endpoints. They’re precision-machined so the lamp actually seats firmly in the housing. No gaps, no wobbling—just a solid fit. The trade-off (and why it’s worth it) Installation is easy. We use standard industrial connectors, so you can swap them out and get back to work without messing with your electrical boards. Now, full disclosure: because the walls are thicker, the thermal response is a tiny bit different. You might notice a slight lag compared to the thin-walled stuff. You might need to tweak your PID settings or dwell times by a few milliseconds to get your preform temperature exactly where you want it. It’s a small adjustment. But in exchange?
