
Making Your Bathroom Warm Before You Even Step Inside
Let’s be honest: nobody likes stepping onto a freezing tile floor at 6 AM. Bathrooms are notorious for this. Between the stone surfaces and the humidity, they stay cold, and traditional heaters just can’t keep up. That’s why we use short-wave infrared (IR) in our wall heaters. Instead of trying to warm up all the air in the room—which takes forever—the heat goes straight to you and the surfaces around you. It’s a direct hit of warmth. The trick to making this feel effortless is smart integration. If you wire the IR element into your home setup using a Zigbee or Wi-Fi relay, you can basically “pre-heat” your morning. You can trigger the warmth from your bed or via a voice command while you’re still brushing your teeth in the other room. Since we use high-wattage quartz or halogen tubes, there’s no waiting around. You don’t have to give it 20 minutes to “warm up” like those old convection heaters. The second that relay clicks, the filament glows, and you feel the heat. It’s almost instant. But here is a word of caution on the hardware. You can’t just grab any cheap smart plug from a drugstore and hope for the best. These heaters pull a lot of power. If you try to run a 2000W heater through a flimsy 10A relay, you’re likely to fry the contacts. To keep things safe and reliable, stick with heavy-duty contactors or smart switches specifically built for inductive loads. It’s a small detail, but it’s the difference between a cozy bathroom and a tripped breaker. One last thing to keep in mind. The “magic” here is actually just physics. Radiant heat travels in a straight line. If you tuck the heater into a dead corner or mount it too high, the smart trigger won’t save you because the heat can’t “see” you. Make sure you have a clear line of sight between the heater and where you’ll actually be standing. Position it right, and you’ll have that perfect, warm glow exactly where you need it.
